Each have their own charm and high points. Regatta Inn is located near Sunset Cay Marina towards the south side of the island on 9th Street West. It's located right on Folly River and so the unobstructed sunset views are simply breathtaking. From there it's an easy walk over to the marina bar, a popular local spot where you'll meet some interesting characters. Water's Edge Inn is located on 2nd Street West, tucked back in a neighborhood near the marsh. It's view isn't quite as stunning, but it's set at a great central location to all the restaurants and shops. These both make for my top recommendations of places to stay in Folly Beach.
The Tides hotel is your more traditional hotel option in Folly Beach. It's location can't be missed as it's the high rise hotel dead center as you drive into town. The lobby and dining area have been beautifully updated within the past few years and each winter these close down for a few weeks to continue renovating the rest of the hotel. You don't get any free meals, but their restaurant on site, Blu, is a great option for a beachside cocktail. From there you can walk right out onto the sand.
Beachside Boutique Inn offers a variety of cute rooms and private cottages to choose from also scattered around the center of town.
